Old foresters were once taught that a tree is a living being and therefore it requires careful consideration. They were taught correctly. From the viewpoint of the forestry profession it is not important whether you take care of few trees or thousands of hectares of forests. It is essential to respect the forest as living matter, which is alive and which also provides life. It provides life in the form of drinking water, breathable air, covered soil, and provides spiritual harmony that can be renewed permanently in forest temples. The fact that forests also produce wood is important but not the principal reason for our management. This is the philosophy which modern and effective forest enterprise is built on. It is not the enterprise for itself. It helps all of us to live and to survive. Therefore, do not ask whose forests are they. They are yours.
